The world's hottest super hot chili pepper!
For months it was rumored that the Carolina Reaper would soon be the hottest chili in the world. This led to intense discussions among chili enthusiasts worldwide.
After a media campaign by grower Ed Currie, the Guinness Book of World Records announced a new "world's hottest chili pepper" in November 2013, ending the debate about the hottest pepper in the world.
Averaging 1,569,300 Scoville units, with individual ratings over 2.2 million Scoville units, the Carolina Reaper became the world's hottest chili.
The previous world record holder, Trinidad Moruga Scorpion, was surpassed.
Trinidad Moruga Scorpion peppers averaged 1.2 million Scoville units and up to 2,009,231 in individual peppers.
The Carolina Reaper was created from a Pakistani Naga and a red Habanero type from St. Vincent.
It is an extremely hot chili pepper with a fruity flavor.
Be careful when handling these seeds and peppers.
Try to maintain a stable temperature of 28 - 32 degrees Celsius for good germination.
